We may meet over the phone or on Skype or Zoom for the first time. You may feel a little curious as we discuss Yoga Therapy or Trauma Informed Yoga and how it works but hopefully after a class or two you may wonder how you lived without it in your life.
Trauma Informed Yoga or sometimes referred to as Trauma Sensitive Yoga was developed over 20 years ago and continues to develop to help support people in their daily lives. Trauma can be experienced in various ways for example: from a car accident, the death of a loved one or through illness. Trauma Informed Yoga can help you feel more in tune with your body and mind and help you feel better able to cope with life's ups and downs. One-to-one and small group classes have been found to be really useful for individuals seeking to make their life better in some way. It may add more flexibility to your joints and body, a little time to yourself to unwind you may even find a moment of peace and serenity and relaxation.
Yoga Therapy can support your body, mind, emotions and spiritual needs. Its focus is all about you and how it can support you. We work on this together melding a yoga practice, which may include movements, the breath and relaxation. Every Yoga Therapy class is different because every individual is different and that's what makes it a useful support in everyday life.
